Sarah Virginia Maimer

Sarah Virginia Maimer, 86, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Kansas City Hospice House.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 609 E. Chippewa St., Paola, Kan. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the mass from 10 -10:30 a.m. The rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m.

Virginia was born July 7, 1925, in Milo, Mo., to Charles Benjamin and Lena May Sweet Dixon. Virginia graduated from Nevada High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Leo Maimer on April 16, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo. Together they lived in Kansas City where Virginia worked as a secretary in the insurance industry, before her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the country.

Preceding her in death are her parents and husband; two sisters, Louise Hall and Gail Sheets; and a brother, C.B. Dixon. Virginia leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions can be made to KC Hospice House.
