SHELDON -- The Hume High School volleyball team secured the GVVC conference title last weekend with wins over Sheldon and Bronaugh.

Hume got past Bronaugh 25-16, 25-20 and then topped Sheldon 25-4, 25-9.

The win over Sheldon gave the Hornets the conference title.

"The girls left little doubt who the conference champions would be," Hume Coach Delanya Thompson said. "It was nice to see all the girls playing to their potential. The girls have not lost a single conference match all season long and their only losses have been to bigger schools."

Against Sheldon, Makena Thompson had 19 service points, while Sara Wikoff and Hannah Jacobs had seven apiece. Abby Yarick had seven kills and Tori Sears had five. Thompson served eight aces and had three solo blocks. Thompson handed out 28 assists. Against Bronaugh, Yarick had 12 service points and Sears had seven kills.
