Jimmy Doyle Zachary Sr., 74, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following an illness of several months. He was born Sept. 29, 1937, in Hattieville, Ark., to George W. Zachary and Jannie Hasler Zachary.

Jimmy grew up in Conway County, Ark., and graduated from Wonderview High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960 and was stationed in Japan and Hawaii as an E-5 Communications Technician. Jimmy later served for two years in the Naval Reserve. Following the service, he lived in California for a number of years where he managed a Midas Muffler Shop. He lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., from 1972 to 1995 before moving to Nevada where he has lived ever since.

Survivors include two sons, James Doyle Zachary, Nevada, and Scott Anthony Zachary, Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren, Adrian Nicole Zachar, Denver, Colo., Sabrina Ashley Clift, Colorado Springs, Colo., Alysha Carol Ann Zachary, Phoenix, Ariz., Kaeth Renee Zachary and Steven Anthony Zachary, both of Nevada; one great-granddaughter, Serenety Rose Clift; one sister, Rose Chism, Hattieville, Ark.; and one brother, Leo Zachary, Morrilton, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

A committal service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton, Ark. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
