Deborah Jean Evans, 54, of Moundville, Mo., passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, Kan., following an illness of several months. Deborah was born June 28, 1957, in Altus, Okla., to Billy Joell Evans and Jeanette Joy Long Evans.
While born in Oklahoma, she has resided in this area for the majority of her life. She has worked for 3M in Nevada for the past 17 years. Deborah loved to dance and everything about the outdoors.
Survivors include one son, Jevan Shorten, Moundville, Mo.; one daughter, Skye Taylor, Nevada; her parents, Joy and Billy Evans, Nevada; one brother, Billy Joell Evans Jr., Nevada; two sisters, Danita Bright, Nevada, and Barbara Bell, Clovis, N.M.; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Roger Beach officiating. Burial will follow at the Hall Cemetery, Jerico Springs, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Ferry funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to a Scholarship Fund at Bronaugh High School in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
