Students design R-5 district holiday cards

For the second year, the Nevada R-5 Board of Education asked students to submit designs for the district's Christmas Card and board members selected two cards from those submitted to be used by the district. During Wednesday night's board meeting R-5 board president Joy Hawks presents second grade student Owen Sweringen, left, and sophomore Kodee Ast, right, a certificate and a box of the cards each student designed as their prize.

My favorite part is they actually selected a card that says "Merry Christmas". Good job boys, what wonderful cards these are!!!

I agree with ccmom. Great job! Christ is the reason for the season and so many forget that. Thank you for not saying "Happy Holidays."
