Tigers swim at Ozarks Invitational

SPRINGFIELD -- The Nevada High School girls swim team finished 10th at the Ozarks Invitational on Saturday.

Nevada sophomore Grace Reichard finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 53.91.

Reichard also finished second in the 100 backstroke with a state-qualifying time of 1:03.8.

Nevada's 200 freestyle relay team of Hunter Richmond, Megan Messick, Tayrin Schmitt and Reichard finished sixth with a time of 1:50.

In the 200 medley relay, Nevada's team of Abbie Landoll, Lize Smith, Emma Denman and Elizabeth Prewitt finished 16th (2:32). Nevada's 400 freestyle relay team of Richmond, Messick, Schmitt and Reichard took ninth place (4:09).

Schmitt was 24th in the 200 free (2:16), Prewitt was 45th (2:39) and Landoll was 52nd (2:46). Denman was 37th in the 200 IM (3:01) and Smith was 42nd (3:07).

Messick was 23rd in the 50 free (28.4), Richmond was 30th (29.42), Rees Noble finished 56th (33.53) and Tori Chrisenberry took 59th (34.67). Denman took 24th in the 100 fly (1:22). Noble was 49th in the 100 free (1:17), while Chrisenberry was 53rd (1:20), and Olivia Culbertson was 54th (1:21).

Prewitt took 33rd in the 500 free (6:55) and Smith was 45th (7:36). Messick was 24th in the 100 back (1:12) and Richmond finished 31st (1:17). Schmitt finished 13th in the 100 breaststroke (1:19).

The Tigers will compete at Carthage on Saturday.
