Mary Elizabeth Pettibon

Mary Elizabeth Pettibon, 90, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born April 28, 1921, in Peculiar, Mo., to Alva Manley and Etta Mae Pyle Manley. She married Glendyn "Bog" Pettibon on Oct. 16, 1937, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1982.

Mary was born in Peculiar, Mo., and lived in Oklahoma for a time as a youth, but spent most of her life in the Deerfield area. She worked for many years as a psychiatric aide at the State Hospital, retiring in 1983. She was very active in the school projects with her children and as well as PTA. She loved to crochet, read and was an avid traveler.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenyce Cullison, Bronaugh, Mo.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Allen Pettibon; and one grandson, Michael Dean Cullison.

A visitation will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at the Deerfield Church of God Holiness, Deerfield, with a brief service to follow with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Deerfield Fire Department or the Deerfield Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
