Red Cross blood drive slated for Feb. 9-10

Friday, February 3, 2012

The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Nevada on Thursday, Feb. 9, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Friday, Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bloodmobile will be located at the First Baptist Church, 301 East Highland, Nevada.

During January and February, each donor will receive a special gift -- a free soup mug and a special Chef Cat Cora recipe card.

A world renowned chef, Greek-American Cat Cora competes on Food Network's Iron Chef America. She is the first and only female Iron Chef.

Outside of the kitchen, she is president and founder of Chefs for Humanity (an organization that originated in response to the 2004 tsunami disaster).

She is the author of three cookbooks, including: "Cat Cora's Kitchen," "Cooking From The Hip," "Cat Cora's Classics With A Twist." In 2011, Cat also authored her first children's book, "Suitcase Surprise for Mommy."

Donors also can receive a free ride to the bloodmobile by calling M Nod Taxi at (417) 667-9993.

For more information, contact the local American Red Cross office at (417) 667-5563.
