Speakers to address leadership at Cottey

Cottey College's Institute for Women's Leadership and Social Responsibility is pleased to bring three more outstanding speakers to campus as part of its Distinguished Speaker Series. On Monday, Feb. 20, Dr. Sandra Laney will speak; on Tuesday, Feb. 21, Lauren Sugarman will take the stage; and on Wednesday, Feb. 22, Deborah Churchill Luster will address the campus and community. All speeches will begin at 7 p.m., in the Missouri Recital Hall.

Laney will speak on "Economic Survival Through Education for Women From Predominately Muslim Countries." She is the foreign affairs officer and advisor to the secretary of state, the Honorable Hilary Clinton.

Lauren Sugarman is the director of Wider Opportunities for Women which works to address policy issues that seek broader, systemic solutions to alleviate poverty and move people toward economic independence. She will speak on "Women in the Green and Nontraditional Economies."

Deborah Churchill Luster is the founder/president of Annie's Homegrown Products, president of SWAK Publishing, and president of Can Do Kids, Inc. She will speak on the topic of women entrepreneurs.

The Recital Hall is inside the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada.
