Opal Regina Badgley

Opal Regina Badgley, 95, Nevada, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. She was born March 20, 1916, in Vichy, Mo., to Charles Edward Hart and Lulu Fannon Hart. She was married in 1937 to George C. Slone and he preceded her in death in 1948. She later married Fred D. Badgley in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1973.

Mrs. Badgley was raised in Vichy, Mo., and attended school there. She worked at Cottey College in Nevada from 1965 to 1980, and then went to work at the Nevada State Hospital from 1980 until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include five children, James Slone and his wife, Joan, Odessa, Mo., Jerry Slone and his wife, Barbara, Tullahoma, Tenn., Linda Dickens and her husband, Brodie, LaGrange, Ga., David Badgley, Nevada, and Diana Daniels, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Gentry Sloan, Odessa, Mo., Sonja Saul, Marietta, Ga., Shana Walls, Decherd, Tenn., Brandon Badgley, Great Bend, Kan., Kristen Badgley, USMC, Pensacola, Fla., Andrew Daniels, Nevada, and Kalinda Daniels, Nevada; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dexter Hart and Oscar Hart.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Contributions may be made, in her memory to a scholarship fund of the donor's choice, in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
