Delta Regina Barker, 77, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at her home.

Born Feb. 28, 1934, in Deerfield, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Alfa Ray Carpenter and Jennie Trapp Carpenter. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church and the Joyful Workers Sunday school class.

On Feb. 13, 1955, she married Robert Lee Barker Sr. at Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Barker Jr. and wife, Pamela, of Inola, Okla., Silas Barker and wife, Linda, of Sanford, Fla.; a daughter, Cheryl Warstler and husband, Jeff, of Joplin; five grandchildren, Amelia, Ethan and Alyvia Warstler, Caleb and Joshua Haley; a sister, Bonnie DeVore and husband, Harold, of Mountain Home, Ark.; a brother, Jack Carpenter and wife, Barbara, of Blanchard, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Delta was a very kind, loving and generous woman. She loved to show Gods love by serving others and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Forest Park Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. John Swadley officiating. Robert Barker Jr., Silas Barker, Jeff Warstler and Ethan Warstler will serve as pallbearers. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, with the Rev. LaVern Warstler officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Forest Park Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
