Henry Earl Wisner, 81, a resident of Fort Scott, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his home. He was born June 19, 1930, in Johnstown, Pa., the son of Harry Milton Wisner and Gertrude Peer Wisner. He married Merna Sue Ream on Feb. 25, 1955, at Glendale, Calif. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2011. Henry had served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life, he was a faithful follower of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He received his pastoral training from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs. He served as pastor of the Oswego, Erie and Girard Nazarene Churches in Kansas, the Pond Creek, Eldorado, and Marlow Nazarene churches in Oklahoma, and the Arona Nazarene Church in Pennsylvania. He had also served at the Nazarene Indian Reservation and the Watonga Indian Mission.

Survivors include four sons, John Wisner, Humboldt, Kan., Tim Wisner, Red Lion, Pa., Henry Wisner Jr., Williamsport, Pa., and David Wisner, Ottawa, Kan.; a daughter, Sally Jones, Fort Scott, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Cora Jeske, Johnstown, Pa. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Douglas Wisner; three sisters, Louise Johns, Lois Scaife and Louella Wisner; and a stepbrother, J.W. Riley.

The Rev. Scott Dickinson will conduct graveside services at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 12, at the U.S. National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Family and friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 2:15 p.m.

Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan.
