Charlotte Elizabeth (Brehm) Graham

Charlotte Elizabeth (Brehm) Graham, 100, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. She was the youngest of eight born to John Henry and Martha Elizabeth Brehm on July 17, 1911, in Spearville, Kan., Ford County. She married Ross Kirkhart Graham on Nov. 9, 1933. They had one daughter, Doris Kathryn Graham Ericson.

She was a homemaker, mother, farm hand and helper to her husband and daughter. She also enjoyed making people happy at WestRidge. The staff and employees called her "granny." They lived in rural Wichita, Savonburg, Needles, Calif., Chanute, Benton, Park City, and Fort Scott, Kan. Ross passed away in February 1998. Then Charlotte moved to WestRidge Assisted Living in Girard, Kan., in 2003.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years; three brothers, Ernest, Adolph and Walter; four sisters, Ernestine and Matilda Brehm, Mary Herrmann and Dorothea Burnham; one grandson, George Russell (Rusty) Ericson; and one great-grandson, Austin Garza. She is survived by her daughter, Doris (Henry) Ericson; six grandchildren, Debra Lust, Karen Ericson, Susan (Roger) Jones, Brenda Guenther, Kevin (Donna) Ericson and John (Ellaine) Ericson; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 19, at Wichita Park Cemetery at 1 p.m. Her memorial service will be Tuesday, March 20, at 11 a.m., at WestRidge Assisted Living, in Girard, Kan.
