Area athletes named to all-GVVC basketball team

Area athletes filled the Golden Valley/Vernon County All-Conference Basketball Team for 2011-12.

Hume's Makena Thompson and Sheldon's Erica Conner were both first team all-league selections on the girls team. On the second team were Hume's Emily Brooks, Bronaugh's Rae Ann Mader and NEVC's Camille Buttorff.

As far as the boys, the first team was made up of Eric Leavell of Sheldon, Grant Davis of NEVC, Patrick Hallam of Bronaugh, Bobby Berry of Hume and Tra Hart of Sheldon.

Listed on the boys second team were Jacob Bell of NEVC, Blake Hudson of Bronaugh, Dustin Rhoades of Sheldon, and Tanner Stutzman of NEVC.

First Team -- Kendall Hart, Montrose; Katelyn Bracher, Montrose; Makena Thompson, Hume; Victoria Engeman, Montrose; Erica Conner, Sheldon.
