Joseph W. Clyburn, 79, passed away March 20, 2012. Joe was born April 4, 1932, in Deerfield, Mo., to Ray and Edna (Weber) Clyburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Service Star, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He was a Mason and a member of Ararat Shrine. He retired from Southwestern Bell as an engineer.

He leaves his wife, Shirley; sons, Frank Allan Clyburn and wife, Debra, and Jeff Clyburn and wife, Jennifer; sisters, Marjorie Martin and Rosemary Bailey; brother, Donald Marvin Clyburn; five grandchildren, Erin Morgan and husband, Jeremy, Matthew Clyburn and wife, Mandy, Meagan Clyburn and Courtney Clyburn; and five great-grandchildren, Jonas Clyburn, Carter Clyburn, Eva Clyburn, Madelynn Morgan and Isabella Morgan.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 23, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Clarksburg Cemetery, south of Fort Scott, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.
