April 11 presentation slated on avoiding home repair scams

Home repair and remodeling scams are some of the top categories of consumer complaints filed with the Missouri Attorney General's office every year. In order to avoid problems, it is very important for consumers to do their "homework" before entering into any agreement with a contractor. Marsha Alexander, University of Missouri Extension housing and environmental design specialist, will present this lesson that will focus on the warning signs that consumers should look for and proven strategies to avoid becoming a victim of home repair scams.
