Karolyn A. Perkins

Karolyn A. Perkins passed away on Nov. 22, 2011, in San Pedro, Calif. She was the only child of Kenneth and Nadine Perry Perkins of Nevada, Mo.

Karolyn was a 1964 graduate of Nevada High School. She later attended El Camino College. She became a gemologist and worked for many years at the San Pedro Jewelry Mart. In 1993, she joined the Pacific Maritime Association where she became a stevedore. She worked at Los Angeles Harbor and loved the people, sights, sounds and life of the harbor.

Karolyn is survived by her many friends who will miss her sense of humor and her special laughter.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada, where her family is buried.

There will be a visitation afterwards at the Bushwhacker Museum from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ferry's Funeral Home, Nevada.
