Mary Louise Wallace

Mary Louise Wallace, 80, Walker, Mo., passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Walker, Mo., to Gale Alfred Oyler and Violet Mae Halstead Oyler. She married John Leslie Wallace on Aug. 13, 1949, in Nevada, and he resides of the home.

Mary was reared in Walker, attended Board Grade School, and graduated from Walker High School in 1949. She was a lifelong resident of Vernon County. Mary helped on the family farm near Walker. She was a longtime and very active member of the Walker Christian Church. She was also a member of the Harwood Helpers Club and the 39 Niners Club. Mary enjoyed sewing, painting, canning, and baking. She loved being with her family and friends.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Leslie, of 62 years, include one son, Dennis Wallace and his wife, Pam, Walker, Mo.; three grandchildren, Renee Ast and her husband, Kurt, Walker, Mo., Travern Wallace and his wife, Meisha, Las Vegas, Nev., and Keatyn Wallace and his wife, Bridgett, Springfield, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Taylor Ast, Bretton Ast, Treyrn Ast, Kylee Wallace, Kenda Wallace, Tyler Wallace, Mia Wallace, and Declan Wallace; two sisters, Marilyn Tally, Clinton, Mo., and Helen Jackson and her husband, Bob, Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Janet Lynn; one brother, Glen Oyler; and one sister, Nina Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Revs. Norm Conklin and Devin Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Friday, June 22, at the funeral home.
