On Saturday, July 28, the Nevada Masonic Lodge will host its Third Annual Golf Tournament at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf course in Nevada. This event, open to all golfers, is the primary fundraiser for the children's programs supported by the local lodge.

The Missouri Child Identification Program, also known as MOCHIP, has processed information aimed at keeping more than 500 children safe in the past three years. The Partners in Education program which provides clothing, school supplies, and other items for local disadvantaged children has provided more than $10,000 during the past five years.

The golf tournament will be a four-person scramble format, with men playing from the white tees, senior men age 65 and older playing from the gold tees and women playing from the red tees. There are several special events with cash prizes as well, such as long drives, long putt and closest to the pin. A full field of 36 teams will provide four flights with cash prizes of $600, $400 and $200 for first, second and third place in each flight. A 100-percent payback skins game will also be held. A silent auction also will be conducted, with more than 40 items to be bid on.

Team entry is $240 and includes lunch and soft drinks provided on the course. Entry forms are available at the course or by calling David Grubb at (417) 667-6920.
