FORT SCOTT -- The Cottey College softball team headed back out on the road Tuesday, taking on the Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College.
The Comets came out of the day with strong performances in both games, but ultimately had to settle for the split. Fort Scott got the day off to a strong start, holding off the Comets in a close game to pick up a 6-5 win. The Comets refused to go down without a fight, however, and ultimately came back to win the nightcap in dominant fashion by a final score of 16-0.
Next on the schedule for the Comets is a doubleheader against Allen County Community College in Iola, Kan., next Wednesday.
