Nevada cross country competes on the road

The Nevada High School and middle school cross country squads took to the road once again Thursday and came back with less than stellar results.

The best finish for the Tigers came in the varsity boys' 5,000-meter race when Ben Sommer took 18th overall with a time of 18 minutes, 32 seconds. Dalton Shunkwiler finished 24th in 18:37, while Max Daniel and Kieran Cain rounded out the order for Nevada, finishing in 51st and 71st place, respectively. Myrissa Dunfield was the only Nevada competitor in the girls' race and she finished 41st with a time of 30:41.

In the middle school boys' 1.5-mile race, Trenton Ellis took 36th with a time of 10:54 and Luke Sudcamp finished 38th in 11:03. Virginia Haverstic finished 20th in the middle school girls' race with a time of 11 minutes even.
