The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football team concluded its season Tuesday night, hosting Neosho Middle School.

Nevada came into the night hoping to finish out the year with a winning record, but Neosho had other ideas. Neosho ultimately spoiled those efforts, holding off Nevada for a 22-16 victory to end season.

Nevada finished at 3-3 on the year and head coach Josh Smith left the night with his head held high. "I am very proud of this seventh grade team. There were many times they could have quit, but they did not," Smith said Wednesday. "We had injuries to some key guys and every time someone went down there were guys ready and willing to step up and get the job done."

Not only did Smith have many positive things to say about his squad, but he also sent out a a message to his players.

Coach Eastwood and I feel very honored to have coached this group and look forward to great things in the future," he said. "Gentlemen, remember, you are and always will be a Nevada Tiger football player."
