Vernon County Republicans greet the Repeal, Replace McCaskill Bus Tour Friday morning at the Republican headquarters in Nevada. Connie Mackey from the Faith Family Freedom Fund super PAC that sponsored the bus tour, as well as a Washington, D.C. Lobbyist, told the dozen or so people in attendance that after the mainstream Republican organizations pulled their support from Todd Aiken, the Faith Family Freedom Fund decided to back him. She said that they talked to Aiken and he made some suggested changes in his campaign. She said that Aiken told them "I 'll do what I need to do."
"This seat is a national seat, not just Missouri," Mackey said, adding that McCaskill is a key vote for ObamaCare.
Marilyn Musgrave, a former U.S. Representative from Colorado's fourth district, said that in this year's election, "Missouri has a chance to send a message to America."
"The whole world will be watching what Missouri is doing," Musgrave said.
She told the crowd "If you don't have the majority, you don't govern."
And she said that the Senate rules make it necessary to have 60 votes to have a real majority.
"The one exception is presidential executive orders, Musgrave said.
