JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls' basketball teams took to the road to square off against Joplin East Middle School Thursday night.

The seventh graders left Joplin North Middle School with a clean sweep, posting two strong victories. In the A game, Nevada blanked East, dominating in a 52-0 victory to improve to 2-0 on the year. The B game was a much closer affair, but there still wasn't much competition as Nevada earned a 38-13 victory.

The eighth graders didn't fare quite as well as East was able to pick up the victory in a close B game by a final score of 22-13. The A game was even closer, but Nevada ultimately came out on top in that contest by a final score of 28-22.

All four squads are set to be back on action on Tuesday, Nov. 6, when they head back out on the road to take on Webb City.
