Nevada Daily Mail

The Nevada Middle School seventh-grade basketball teams got back into action with two home contests to start out the week.

On Monday, head coach Danny Penn's squads took on Joplin South at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center and came out of the night with a sweep. The A team won a close contest that night by a final score of 29-27 to improve to 5-1 on the season, while the B team took a 23-18 victory.

On Tuesday, both squads got right back into action at Nevada Middle School against Lamar and that night proved to be just as successful as the one before. In the A game, Nevada picked up the victory by a final score of 25-13 and the B team completed the sweep with a 34-6 victory.

The NMS eighth-grade squads were in action Tuesday as well, sweeping Lamar by the final scores of 28-26 and 26-9.

Next on the schedule for both the seventh and eighth graders is Monday, Nov. 19, when they host Carthage Middle School, in the gym at Nevada Middle School. Tipoff for the first game of the night is set at 5:30 p.m.
