Saturday, November 17, 2012

NEVADA, Mo. -- The 3M Foundation has donated $250 to the Vernon County Historical Society in recognition of retired employee Leon Shumaker's commitment to the community.

Shumaker has donated 32 hours to the Vernon County Historical Society. As a volunteer, Leon has performed valuable duties in support of special events and as a tour guide. "3M employees and retirees generously give their time and skills to help others," 3M Vice President of Community Affairs Kimberly Price said. "We are pleased to recognize their commitment to their communities."

As part of the 3M Volunteer Match, the 3M Foundation will donate $250 to eligible nonprofit organizations for which a 3M employee volunteers 20 hours or a 3M retiree volunteers 25 hours or more per calendar year. For more information, call (651) 733-0144.
