WALKER, Mo. -- The Northeast Vernon County Knights and Lady Knights basketball teams hosted Weaubleau for both the NEVC boys' and girls' first game of the year Thursday. Weaubleau swept both games, taking the girls' contest by a final score of 52-19 and the boys' game, 52-37.

Early foul trouble led to a long night for the Lady Knights. Two of head coach Jeremy Barger's five starters had two fouls in the first quarter and one had three. By halftime, four starters had three fouls apiece.

"As the coach, I need to do a better job of getting these girls prepared to play good defense, so we do not commit so many fouls," Barger said. "Any time you have the foul trouble we had with our starters, at any level, that will, in some way, affect the outcome of the game."

Camille Buttorf led the Lady Knights with nine points and nine rebounds.
