The higher-seeded teams posted wins Monday night in the Tri-County seventh-grade girls basketball tournament at Nevada Middle School and the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center.
Nevada defeated Joplin North by a final score of 14-8 and Webb City routed Carthage, 51-4, at the Community Center, while Neosho defeated Joplin East, 68-4, and Joplin South topped McDonald County by a final score of 32-17 at the middle school.
On Tuesday, head coach Danny Penn's seventh graders fell in the semifinals to Webb City by a final score of 37-19. That loss dropped Nevada's overall record to 11-3 on the year and sent Penn's squad to the third-place game, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., today, Against Joplin South.
Webb City will take on top-seeded Neosho in the championship game at 6:30 p.m.
