SHELDON, Mo. -- The Sheldon Lady Panthers suffered their second consecutive defeat at the hands of Fair Play Friday night at Sheldon High School.
Neither squad was really able to get much going early in the contest as the Lady Panthers scored just three points in the opening quarter, but found themselves down by just one. Fair Play's offense picked up noticeably from there, however, and despite taking a 22-18 lead into the locker room at the break, head coach Leon Lowe's Lady Panthers ultimately fell short by a final score of 49-30.
Alesha Laning led the offensive effort for the Lady Panthers with 21 of her squad's 30 points on the night. For Fair Play, Kylie Cantrell led the offensive effort with 20 points.
The Lady Panthers are scheduled to be back in action on Monday, Dec. 17, when they team up with the varsity and JV boys to take on Wheatland. The first of those three games is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
