During a regular meeting set for 7 o'clock, tonight, in council chambers, 120 S. Ash, Nevada, the Nevada City Council will consider the first reading of a general ordinance amending Chapter 3 of the city code to add a license to permit the operation of a winery in the city limits. The first reading of an ordinance approving the city's agreement with Alliance Water Resources to provide water and sewer services for Nevada also is on the agenda.

In addition, council plans to consider the appointment of local veterinarian Dr. Brad Copeland to the Nevada Regional Medical Center board of directors.

Other items on the agenda include the final approval of the city's 2013 municipal budget and the five-year capital improvement budget, and three ordinances relating to the city's water and sewer rates.

The council will conduct the second reading of an ordinance declaring three city vehicles surplus property so they can be sold; a contract with Troutt, Beeman & Co. P.C. to conduct the city's 2012 audit; and four ordinances setting fees at the city's parks and recreation facilities.

Will anyone be able to buy a license or, will this be for just one license?
