Monday, December 17, 2012

Nevada Daily Mail

Approximately 25 area residents were awarded associate degrees in the December Crowder College graduation ceremonies held in Neosho over the weekend.

Theresa Thorade was awarded the Outstanding Graduate award from the Nevada Campus. She not only had a 4.0 grade point average, but was very active in Phi Theta Kappa and student activities. She also was a peer tutor.

"We are so proud of these students," said Donna Thomas, Nevada campus director. They have been a great addition to our campus and will be missed, although some have already indicated they plan to use their Lifetime Learner Certificate to come back and take one three-hour class each semester with free tuition. These extra hours will be used to facilitate their transfer on to bachelor's degrees."

Thursday, Dec. 13, was the last day of classes for the fall semester.

The Nevada campus will remain open all week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to continue enrollment for the spring semester which starts Jan. 14. It will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, reopening on Jan. 2.
