Fifth grade girls win Hoop Stars tournament

The Nevada fifth-grade girls' basketball squad beat Butler, Sherwood and Raymore-Peculiar to take first place in the Hoop Stars tournament on Dec. 15 and 16, in Nevada. The fifth-grade girls' team is, in no particular order: Coaches Bob Kerbs and Thad Lundine, Callie Beshore, Teagan Charles, Lani Coonrod, Payge Dahmer, Jadeann Highley, Lindley Ferry, Hailee Lundine, Lindy Smith, Blair Wilson and Brynn Wolfe.
