Lady Hornets fall to Drexel

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

Nevada Daily Mail

HUME -- The Hume Lady Hornets fought turnovers all night long and simply couldn't overcome a strong Drexel defense in a home loss Thursday night.

"We started out well, but let their defense get the best of us," Lady Hornets head coach Delanya Thompson said. "We had way too many turnovers."

The Lady Hornet's held their own early and led, 15-10, after a quarter, but simply couldn't maintain the momentum and ultimately fell by a final score of 52-27.

Tori Sears was a force throughout the contest on both ends of the floor. She ultimately finished the night with a team-high 11 points and finished the night with a double-double as she also paced the Lady Hornets in rebounds with 10.

Next on the schedule for Thompson's squad is today, when the Lady Hornets take on Sheldon in the Appleton City tournament. Tipoff for that contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., at Appleton City High School.
