Samuel Remington Brooks III

Samuel Remington Brooks III, 52, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home in Richards, Mo. He was born Oct. 9, 1960, in Topeka, Kan., to Samuel R. Brooks Jr. and Wilma J. Zeller Brooks. He married Lianne D. Mills on Dec. 24, 2002, in Mound City, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Samuel was raised in Silver Lake, Kan., near Topeka, and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1978. He lived in the Pleasanton and Mound City, Kan., area for many years and came to Richards in 2005. Samuel worked for Inland Truck Parts, Lenexa, Kan., until his retirement due to poor health. He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Lianne, include seven children, Chrystal Brooks, Christopher Brooks and Amanda Shaw and her husband, John, all of Olathe, Kan., Brenda Campbell, Florence, Ariz., Christopher Lawry, Richards, Mo., Jacob Lawry, Florence, Ariz., and Kyle Dominguez, Richards, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and his parents, Sam and Wilma Brooks, Nevada.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the All Saints Episcopal Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Ted Estes officiating.
