Seventh grade boys sweep Joplin North

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh grade boys' basketball teams got back into action Monday night at Joplin North Middle School and brought home positive results in both contests.

In the A game, Nevada took the victory by a final score of 33-11. Braeden Hinton and Hunter Mason led the offensive effort for Nevada, as they each put up 11 points.

Hinton and Mason also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds each. On the defensive side, Isiah Butler led Nevada with a team-high six steals.

In the B game, Nevada completed the sweep with a 38-31 victory. Daulton Shepard led the offensive effort with 21 points, while Alec Baker led the way for Nevada in rebounds with eight.

With those wins, the A team improved its record to 3-3 on the season, while the B team currently sits at 1-2.

Next on the schedule for Nevada is Monday, Jan. 21, when head coach Robert Miner's squads travel to Lamar.
