Bronaugh girls fall in tournament play

Friday, January 18, 2013

Bronaugh's girls nearly matched Northeast Arma point for point over the final three quarters, but a 19-10 deficit to open the game proved too much for the Lady Wildcats to overcome in a 47-38 setback Wednesday at the Tony Dubray Classic, in Liberal.

The Lady Wildcats trailed, 30-19, at intermission and got within nine at 38-29 after three quarters. They matched points with Northeast, but weren't able to consistently make up ground over the final frame.

Heather Baker's eight points topped a balanced scoring effort for Bronaugh. Martell Moore and Breanna Householder both added seven, Sierra Arens and Lora Shaw chipped in five, and Amanda Raper, Cydnee Piper and Susie Hartman each finished with two.
