Frankie Wayne Keeton, 79, the son of John Franklin and Roxie Mae (McKinley) Keeton, was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Roscoe, Mo., and passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Mo.

Wayne lived in Roscoe during his youth and graduated from Roscoe High School. He served our country in the United States Army and the Missouri Army National Guard, where he was qualified as both a Marksman and Sharpshooter. On March 21, 1959, Wayne was united in marriage to Edith Ann Fox in Roscoe, Mo., and to their union four children were born.

He and Ann made their home in the Kansas City area where Wayne was employed by J&L Steel. When the steel company went out of business, he then worked for a time at Cortland, GE, and Hertz. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, trained dogs, and was also a commercial fisherman. His religious affiliation was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Ann, of the home in Harwood, Mo.; daughters, Donna, Cheryl, and Deborah; son, Roger; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leta and June; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucille.

Funeral services for Frankie Wayne Keeton were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City, Mo., with the Rev. Robert Fox officiating. Pallbearers were Ronnie Elliott, Chuck Elliott, Guyon Collins, Tristan Elliott, Bill Carl, and Shain Farr. Interment with military honors followed at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City, Mo.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City, Mo.
