NEVC girls defeat Hume

The Northeast Vernon County Lady Knights pulled out the closest of victories Tuesday night at Northeast Vernon County High School.

A buzzer-beating rebound and putback by Erin Kitsmiller pushed the Lady Knights to a 49-47 win over the Lady Hornets. Shelby Wilkins and Camille Buttorff scored 14 points apiece for the Lady Knights, despite the fact that Buttorff fouled out 1 minute into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Knights are 10-9 on the season.

Hope Yarick scored 12 points to lead Hume.
