SENECA, Mo. -- Nevada Middle School's eighth-grade boys' basketball teams swept Seneca, with the A team winning, 59-26, and the B team winning, 39-25.

Matt Sommer had 19 points and six assists to lead the A team. "Myles McNeley had his best offensive night of the season with 18 points," pointed out head coach Tyson Beshore. Patrick Ferry had 12 points and seven rebounds.

"The boys are playing well," Beshore said. "We executed tonight and are continuing to improve every time we take the court."

In the B game, Cameron Diaz and Tyler Seaver led the offensive effort for Nevada with 24 and 13 points, respectively.

"They both scored a lot of fast break layups," noted the coach. "It was a very physical game and the boys responded well. I am really proud of their effort the past few weeks.

"Thomas Prewitt, Blake Majors, and Payton Bright continue to control the rebounding edge for us."

Nevada's last home game is scheduled for today, when they host Joplin South, at 5:30 p.m.
