With the budget process complete, the Vernon County Sheriff's Office has announced that Sheriff's Deputy Greg Prough has been promoted from Sergeant in the Vernon County Jail to Bailiff of the 29th Circuit Court. "Deputy Prough will be assigned to full-time bailiff duties and courthouse security this month" said Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher. Sheriff Mosher also said some of the duties of the court bailiff will be to investigate all incidents that take place on courthouse property, provide security during court sessions and oversee transportation for the Vernon County Jail inmates to their court appointments. Deputy Greg Prough has worked for the Vernon County Sheriff's Office for a little over one year and was promoted to sergeant in the jail on Jan. 5 of this year. Deputy Prough is a licensed peace officer with the State of Missouri and has been serving as Bailiff on days when court was in session over the last several months. Deputy Prough said he is looking forward to serving the citizens of Vernon County in his new position.
