Pearl O. Kimzey, 88, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born on Oct. 13, 1924, in Chanute, Kan., to John Robert Stone and Susie Gertrude Meighen Stone. She married Rolla E. Kimzey on June 1, 1943, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.

Pearl grew up in El Dorado Springs, Mo., and attended school there. She worked in a nursing home at a young age and with her father in the salvage business for a number of years. She also worked as a cake decorator and provided day care in her home. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to Roscoe, Mo., where they lived until moving to Nevada in 1960. She taught Sunday school at Pine Street Baptist Church for many years and loved to cook and sew.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Heathman and her husband, Tom, of Nevada; one son, Robert Kimzey and his wife, Judy, of Nevada; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Kimzey, Warsaw, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Ray Kimzey, Jody Kimzey, Kimberly Clay, Rob Kimzey, Randy Kimzey, Missy Weymeyer, Russell Baker and James Smith; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Bessie Bradley of the State of California; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Peggy Stone, Joplin, Mo. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Otis "Bud" Kimzey; five brothers, Daniel Stone, John Stone, Alfred Stone, James Stone and Jerry Stone; and three sisters, Dortha Payton, Mickey Vandenberg and Ella Miler.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
