Tuesday, February 19, 2013

The Nevada City Council will be looking at several bids and two new items of business when they meet at 7 tonight in the council chambers in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash Street.

Bids for a variety of items for the public works department head the agenda, with the council considering bids for concrete, fuel, rock slurry chat and pipe for the Jefferson Street project.

They will also be considering three appointments to the Housing Authority Board: Jennifer Thomas, a full-term, which will expire in 2017; Mike Turnbull, a second term which will expire in 2017 and Frankie L. Davis, a second term which will expire in 2017.

Other new business on the agenda is the first reading of an agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for partial funding of a sidewalk along Spring Street and the first reading of an ordinance to change the zoning of property in the 700 block of East Maple from R-1, single family, to C-3 commercial district.

The council will also be holding the second and final reading of a special ordinance to settle a boundary dispute with the state of Missouri.

Other items on second reading include an agreement with M-NOD Taxi and Shuttle for subsidized transportation services for 2013; a change in the Chapter 3-26 of the city code to allow the sale of alcohol at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course and an agreement with Williams Spurgeon Kuhl & Freshnock Architects Inc., for the renovation and construction of a public safety building.
