Virginia Lee Jenkins, 91, Nevada, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Freeman Health System West, Joplin, Mo. She was born on Oct. 21, 1921, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to James W. Vohs and Dorothy B. Cornelius Vohs. She married H. Everett Jenkins on Nov. 24, 1937, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1988.

Virginia was raised on a farm west of Nevada and attended Nevada schools. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Nevada. Virginia worked at various jobs during her lifetime, including Key Work Clothes, Nellie Don, and retired from the Nevada State Hospital. Later, she worked for West Central, in Nevada, until 2001.

Survivors include three sons, James L. Jenkins and his wife, Charlene, rural Vernon County, Garry Jenkins and his wife, Ada, Richards, Mo., and Mike Jenkins and his wife, Mary, Sheldon; one daughter, Patricia McClellan and her husband, Denny, Nevada; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; her husband, Everett; and one son, Johnny.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Abel Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 5-6 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home.
