Martha "Marty" Herren

Martha "Marty" Jane Herren, 65, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 26, 1947, in Nevada, Mo. to Bonnie Perkey. She was married Dec. 2, 1982, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Dale Rex Herren and he survives of the home.

Mrs. Herren was born in Nevada and attended grade school there. She moved to Raytown, Mo., and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1965. Marty worked as a nurse's aide in several nursing homes. She also worked in different restaurants over the years. She was employed for 17 years at Gaster Accounting, in Nevada, until her retirement. Marty enjoyed gardening, canning, collecting Indian dolls and hummingbird figurines. She loved her family and that love was returned in full.

In addition to her husband, Dale, survivors include five sons, David Jenkins and his wife, Yvonne, Nevada, Archie Price and his wife, Becky, Battlefield, Mo., Daryl Herren, Bronaugh, Mo., Doug Smith, Buffalo, Mo., and Martin Herren and his wife, Christine, Nevada; three daughters, Tena Black, Atchison, Kan., Charlotte Cox, Bronaugh, Mo., and Kelly Conner and her husband, Billy, Fort Scott, Kan.; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Paula Brayman and her husband, Lester, and Rita Gold and her husband, Bill, all of Falcon, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother; stepfather, Paul Kimrey; and two aunts, Martha Perkey and Wilma Phillpot.

A memorial service were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
