FORT SCOTT -- The Nevada Tigers tennis team took to the road Friday afternoon and came home with positive results, defeating the Tigers of Fort Scott High School, 6-3.

The match came on the heels of a cancellation on Monday that left Tigers head coach Clay Wheeler frustrated due to the circumstances that led to that cancellations and a rainout of a scheduled contest at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School on Tuesday. The Tigers made good on the chance to finally get back into action, dominating Fort Scott for most of the match on the way to their first win of the 2013 dual season.

Nevada earned victories in four of the six singles matches that were played on the day, as Andrei Ziabchenko, Skyler Crews, Anthony Do and Chris Miller all earned victories in their respective matches, while the doubles teams of Sam McCoy and Ziabchenko and Crews and Miller also posted victories.

The Tigers were scheduled to get right back into action on Monday, facing Thomas Jefferson in a road match that was to make up Tuesday's canceled match, weather and court conditions permitting.
