Sharon Knight/Daily Mail Four-year-old Raelyn Houchin keeps a close eye on her great-grandfather, Grover Judd, as Rachel Godwin, a phlebotomist with the Ozark Region of the American Red Cross prepares him to give blood. Raelyn wasn't the only one watching. Her mother, Brittany Houchin keeps an eye on the trio from her cot behind them. Donating blood has always been a family function, said Houchin who used to come with her grandmother, Ruby Judd when she was little. "Now I bring my daughter with me," she said. Ruby Judd expects to resume her donations in January or February. Her granddaughter said she was treated for cancer and has to wait a year before she makes another donation. Godwin said turnout was good for Thursday's blood drive, held at First Baptist Church in Nevada. By 4:30, the Red Cross had collected 35 pints, including Houchin's, which enabled her to reach her 2-gallon mark. Sharon Knight/Daily Mail.
