Marcella Faye Scism, 73, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at her home, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 6, 1940, in Vernon County, Mo., to Harlan Lee Hamilton and Laverne Hyder Hamilton. She was married to Kenneth D. Scism on July 3, 1957, in Miami, Okla., and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1999.

Marcella was raised near Montevallo and attended Nevada High School. She worked for the Nevada R-5 Schools in food service for many years. Marcella loved spending time with her friends and family at the lake home on Bull Shoals Lake and loved being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Community Christian Church, Nevada.

Survivors include her daughter, Kamey Fleener, of the home; her grandchildren, Steven Fleener and his wife, Amy, Walker, Mo., and Lisa Church and her husband, Adam, Xenia, Kan.; nine great-grandchildren, Savanah Fleener, Shawn Fleener, Gabriel Fleener, Emma Fleener, Sophia Fleener, Trenton Church, Kennedy Church, Ashton Church, and Kirston Church; special niece, Jamie Harreld and her husband, David, Nevada, and their children, Dylan, Springfield, Mo., and Lauren, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; one sister, Lucille Newell; and three brothers, Bud Hamilton, Tinker Hamilton, and Orville Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo. Friends may call now until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 6, at the funeral home.
