Jeanette L. Winsby, 81, Nevada, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1931, in Robstown, Texas, to George Bryan Lankford and Anita Susan Braden Lankford. She was married May 4, 1950, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Lawrence Leon Winsby.

Mrs. Winsby was born in Robston, Texas, and was raised in Corpus Christi and graduated from high school there. She worked as a secretary at a car dealership, but primarily was a homemaker and mother. Jeanette and her family lived in a variety of locales including the states of Minnesota, Kansas, and Missouri. She and her husband came to Nevada in 2010 to be closer to their daughter, Susan, and lived the remainder of her life here. Jeanette and Lawrence owned and operated Flavor Maid Donut shops in four different locations over a 10-year period.

Survivors include her husband, Larry, Nevada; three children, Lawrence Bryan Winsby and his wife, Carol, Overland Park, Kan., Sharon Davis and her husband, Keith, Aurora, Colo., and Susan Houser and her husband, Arthur, Fort Scott, Kan.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Green Portland, Texas; one brother, Charles Lankford, Fresno, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James Lankford and Jack Lankford.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 10, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, with Steve Russ officiating.
