James Dean Pettibon, 48, Richards, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 16, 1964, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Paul James Pettibon and Lillian Marie Durrossette Pettibon. He married Angela L. Morrell on Feb. 14, 1998, in Richards, Mo., and she survives of the home.

James grew up in Richards and attended Nevada schools. He worked as a mechanic and plumber, and also worked in the asphalt business for several years. James was loved by his family and friends. He loved fishing and snagging, spending time at the lake with his family, and racing cars when he was younger. James attended the Church of God Holiness in Deerfield, Rinehart Christian Church in Metz, and the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Fort Scott, Kan.

Survivors include his wife, Angie, of the home; four children, Michael, Jasmin, Emily and Mya, all of the home; one brother, John Pettibon, Richards; one sister, Linda Hoskins, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Grover Greer and Bill Greer; and two sisters, Carolyn Harms and Debbie Kiger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Revs. Roderick Hillhouse and Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 9-10 a.m., Friday, May 10, prior to the service at the funeral home.
