Patty Joan Hulse, 72, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Fairfield, Texas, following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 21, 1941, in Nevada, to George Edwin Shepley and Naomi Arnold Shepley. She married Norman E. Hulse on Oct. 24, 1959, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Patty was raised in Nevada and graduated from Walker High School in 1959. She was a homemaker and caregiver most of her life. At one time she was an active participant in the Vernon County Child Protection Advocacy Council, PTA, PTO, Walker 4-H, and was a lifelong active member of the Church of Christ in Nevada. Pat loved working outdoors, carpentry and gardening. She was also very artistic and had the talent to accomplish anything she tried including painting, drawing, crocheting and decorating cakes often making gifts of these items. Pat was devoted to her grandchildren and was known to be a very generous person always putting others needs before her own.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Tammi Bozworth and her husband, Fred, Nevada, and Shelli Harkrader and her husband, Dean, Nevada; four grandchildren, Elaine Beaunoyer, Monica Eaton, Haylee Bozworth and Devon Harkrader; one great-grandson, Daniel Eaton; one brother, Don Shepley and his wife, Shirley, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Danny Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home.
